    Quadratic Functions

    Quadratic Functions

Quadratic functions and equations are useful in diverse areas such as study of projectile motions, designing reflectors for satellite dishes and car headlamps, study of comet pathways, designing lenses, revenue or profit analysis etc. One of the key results in Algebra is the Fundamental Theorem of Alegbra which states that every polynomial can be factored into linear and quadratic factors.

    Learning Objectives:

    1. Standard form of a quadratic function
    2. Determine domain and range
    3. Find vertex form of a quadratic function
    4. Vertex as a point of minimum or maximum
    5. Completing the square method to rewrite a given standard form quadratic function in vertex form
    6. Quadratic Formula
    7. Intercepts and graph
    8. Modeling with quadratic functions
