Create, adopt, and utilize open materials for Ohio's higher education courses.

About Us

The Ohio Department of Higher Education awarded a $1,300,000 Innovation Grant in June 2017 to support the development of open educational resources (OER) and other materials to reduce the cost of textbooks for students. Faculty teams from Ohio's 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, both public and private, assumbled content packages as alternatives to commercial textbooks for Ohio students. The culmination of that work is presented here.

Focusing on Ohio's high enrollment courses, these full course OER guides can be adopted in full or in part, or adapted to meet the needs of course instructors. The courses have been divided into modules that meet the objectives of the Ohio Department of Higher Education's Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGs) and Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) guidelines. Courses and content will continue to be added as the program grows.

OhioLINK provides ongoing technology support by hosting the OOEC platform.
