The Ohio Department of Higher Education awarded a $1,300,000 Innovation Grant in June 2017 to support the development of open educational resources (OER) and other materials to reduce the cost of textbooks for students. Faculty teams from Ohio's 2-year and 4-year colleges and universities, both public and private, put guides together to present alternatives to commercial textbooks for Ohio students. The culmination of that work is presented here.
Focusing on Ohio's high enrollment courses, these full course OER guides can be adopted in full or in part, or adapted to meet the needs of course instructors. The courses have been divided into modules that meet the objectives of the Ohio Department of Higher Education's Transfer Assurance Guides (TAGs) and Ohio Transfer Module (OTM) guidelines.
OhioLINK provides ongoing technology support by hosting the OOEC platform.
